A pair of developers announced plans for a senior housing complex in Closter, with plans to replace five old manufacturing buildings with a state-of-the-art community.
Reuten Associates and Metropolis Property Group said the new Residences at Reuten Park will include 195 units, replacing the World War II-era facilities in Reuten Corporate Park. The units will be designed for independent living, assisted living and memory care, in studio, one- and two-bedroom configurations.
“We believe that transforming the oldest portion of Reuten Corporate Park from a manufacturing center to a beautiful luxury senior housing community is the ‘highest and best use’ of our land,” Mike Reuten, owner and managing partner of Reuten Associates, said in a prepared statement. “It will beautify the neighborhood and add a significant asset to our community — benefiting seniors, families, neighbors and local businesses.”
The six-acre property at 231 and 239 Herbert Ave. will be built in approximately 14 to 16 months, pending municipal approvals.
