Cognizant acquires firm’s digital engineering business

Cognizant, the Teaneck-based professional services company, has acquired the digital engineering assets of an Atlanta-based engineering and project management agency, it announced this week.

The deal with Hunter Technical Resources will strengthen Cognizant’s talent network in key markets, its U.S. digital engineering resources and its position as one of the world’s largest such firms.

“This acquisition expands Cognizant’s access to the highly specialized expertise our clients require to accelerate their digital transformation journey,” Rajesh Nambiar, Cognizant’s president, digital business and technology, said in a prepared statement. “Hunter Technical Resources has a long track record of sourcing high-value IT talent for blue-chip clients. Their unique, blended focus on technology and relationship-building fits perfectly with Cognizant’s digital engineering franchise and our own client-first culture.”

The transaction marks Cognizant’s sixth announced acquisition of 2021. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Hunter will continue to operate its project management business as an independent entity.
