Tompkins named NJ/NY market president for Aetna

Jason Tompkins was named the NJ/NY market president for Aetna, it was announced this week. He had been serving in the role on an interim basis.

Tompkins will lead Aetna’s commercial and Medicare businesses in New Jersey and New York, driving the company’s growth strategy in the market. He also will be tasked with leading enhancements to existing product offerings, building Aetna’s brand locally and leading the development of new products and services.

Tompkins, who has more than a decade of experience with Aetna, previously served as growth officer for the North Atlantic territory. He also has worked in Aetna’s national accounts in a number of roles with increasing responsibility, including vice president of client management.

Kristen Miranda, senior vice president, Aetna commercial and specialty markets, welcomed him to the role.

“Jason has demonstrated his passion for improving health care through creating critical connection points for our customers that make health care simpler and easier, and I’m excited to have him lead the New York/New Jersey market,” she said.

Tompkins earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut.

Aetna is a CVS Health company.
