Wrightstown-area diner sold; will become Mediterranean-style restaurant

The Garden State Diner in the Wrightstown area of Springfield Township has been sold to a businessman who will remake the restaurant into one with a Mediterranean flair, according to real estate firm Bielat Santore & Co.

The diner’s owner, the Rotsides family, decided to retire from the business, and sold the eatery and its liquor license to the undisclosed Halal meat processor and distributor and restaurateur. The new owner intends to renovate the restaurant in a complete overhaul that could take up to a year to complete, the Allenhurst-based real estate firm said.

The restaurant is located at the intersection of Monmouth Road and Georgetown/Wrightstown Road, known as Tilghman’s Corner.

Bielat Santore’s “Diner Bob” Gillis handled the transaction.
