Jersey City-based Buckle, a financial services company offering insurance and credit products to gig workers, hired its first chief people officer to join its executive team.
Cheryl Sinclair was hired for the new role and will lead Buckle’s human resources strategy, including talent and performance management, the company said in a news release.
Sinclair spent nearly two decades in human resources at Farmers Insurance, where she led a team of more than 50 regional partners across multiple states, Buckle said.
“Cheryl has extensive leadership expertise driving HR programs to support the strategic objectives of multibillion-dollar organizations, while leading diverse teams through complex transformation and growth,” Buckle Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer Kristi Matus said.
“We are confident Cheryl will ensure diversity, equity and inclusion at Buckle as she implements HR systems and initiatives to support our growing team in ways that will advance the gig economy.”
Sinclair most recently served as the head of talent management for Holland America Group, and she is a graduate of Texas Tech University.
“Buckle’s core values are firmly rooted in helping people, and I look forward to doing my part to enhance our employee experience and creating an environment where everyone thrives,” Sinclair said.
