Rowan College at Burlington County has received a $376,473 federal grant to improve the graduation rates of veterans.
The college plans to use the funds to create a Center of Excellence for veterans by fall 2022, which will include a dedicated lounge space and expanded advising and academic success services for veterans, RCBC said in a statement.
“We currently serve hundreds of veterans and plan to continue to improve our service to those who served our country,” RCBC President Michael A. Cioce said. “Adding a dedicated lounge space, with access to computers and fellow veterans, will increase camaraderie and a sense of inclusion among our veterans.”
The college has fostered a longstanding relationship with Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and provides a work-study program, educational and career resources, as well as 26 new Veterans Affairs-approved programs catered to the veteran population, RCBC said.
“This is just another step we’re taking to thank those who have given so much to our country,” Cioce said.
