Atlantic City-based G3 Esports, one of the leading esports gaming companies in the country, announced Thursday a strategic partnership with Mainline that it feels will help bring competitive collegiate esports to the mainstream.
The second year of Conference One play is scheduled to start Oct. 4. The partnership will see Conference One utilizing Mainline’s platform technology, data capture and broadcast support to deliver a fast-paced, entertaining viewing experience, officials said.
“Mainline did such an outstanding job as our inaugural season partner that we chose them again for the upcoming season,” G3 CEO Anthony Gaud said. “As we expand our collegiate esports offerings, we need to ensure that Conference One has a reliable partner who can meet the high standards of support our expanded expectations and far-reaching plans require.”

Starting this fall, Conference One’s sophomore campaign will feature extensive coverage on Sports Illustrated’s website, with each school having a dedicated team page complete with rosters, player profiles, articles, interviews and stats.
The Sports Illustrated relationship is one of several initiatives introduced by acting Commissioner Ric Serritella, who intends to bring collegiate esports competition to the mainstream and change the perception of how competitive videogaming is viewed.
Conference One’s weekly broadcasts and significantly increased media coverage will be distributed across numerous multimedia platforms readily available to consume by fans of all ages, Serritella said.
With an unprecedented alliance of traditional sports and esports industry experts and pioneers on staff, the goal is to establish Conference One as the mainstream media leader in collegiate esports. In turn, Conference One will help empower gamer participants to grow their skill-set and brand while allowing universities to expand and solidify their college esports initiatives.
