Working Mother’s list of best places to work for mothers (and fathers) is out

New Brunswick-based Johnson & Johnson made the Top 10 of the Best Places to Work for mothers — and for fathers — in rankings released by Working Mother magazine.

J&J was the only company with its headquarters in New Jersey to get top honors in a list that included 100 companies.

Six New Jersey companies (Merck, Nestle Health Science, Prudential Financial, Sanofi, Unilever and Zoetis) made both lists.

The editors said this year’s winners were noted for focusing on inclusive benefits for families, including gender-neutral leave, gradual phase-back after parental leave and accessible, affordable child care.

For the mother’s list, this year’s winners demonstrated progress in offering paid time off for parents and caretakers, flexible hours and other COVID-19-related, family-friendly benefits and opportunities for women to advance.

On the father’s list, 88% of those who were honored have fully paid, gender-neutral leave for parents, up from 63% a year ago. In addition, 75% have phase-back-to-work programs after the leave — or double that for non-winners.

A look at the lists. And please note: Many companies honored have a strong New Jersey presence — only those headquartered here will be listed.
