Barnes & Noble Education names new chief HR officer

Barnes & Noble Education Inc., the Basking Ridge-based education solutions company, has named a new chief human resources officer, it announced this week.

Maureen Pardine has also been named a senior vice president, and will report to Michael C. Miller, executive vice president, corporate development and affairs, and chief legal officer.

In her new role, she will be responsible for talent, recruiting, diversity & inclusion, compensation, benefits and other aspects of human resources. She has more than 30 years of experience in the HR industry, and more than 20 years of experience in the retail industry. Most recently, she was SVP, human resources, for 1-800-Flowers.com Inc.

Huseby, chairman and CEO, said in a prepared statement. “Maureen’s leadership experience and impressive background developing and overseeing the HR strategy for a diverse workforce in the retail industry will be an incredible asset to BNED.”
