Q&A with Gutierrez-Scaccetti at Women in Construction event Wednesday

The New Jersey chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction will be hosting an in-person Q&A with state Department of Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti at 6:30 Wednesday night at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township.

Christine A. Nazzaro-Cofone, principal at Cofone Consulting Group, will moderate the discussion, which will touch on a number of topics, including:

  • Energy, sustainability and the future: Electric vehicle initiatives, public transportation incentives and future goals of the NJDOT;
  • Infrastructure and communities: Thoughts on programs/grants available, how industrial developments are affect our infrastructure, the federal infrastructure package and community development;
  • Jobs, Economy & Funding: Discussions on financial allocations and construction projects in the pipeline.

Gutierrez-Scaccetti also will speak about her own personal and professional journey as a woman in the industry.

“We are looking forward to old-school, in-person dialogue that promises to deliver timely and relevant questions impacting all of us and the communities we live, work and play in and travel through,” Nazzaro-Cofone said.

NAWIC is a national organization for women in the construction industry. Members range from tradeswomen, architects, engineers, lawyers, administrators, office managers, accountants, project managers and any other roles in a construction-related firm.
