The Davenport Apartments, a high-end, 60-unit multifamily complex developed by Weiss Properties, quickly proved the popularity of Somerville remains high.
Within eight months of its opening, the apartment complex has reached 100% occupancy with a growing wait list. Many of their tenants are young professionals seeking privacy during the week and action on the weekends.
Weiss Properties President Robert Weiss said he isn’t surprised. He feels the Davenport provides the type of living that’s in demand.
“The choice between suburban and urban living no longer exists,” he said. “Life at the Davenport provides the best of all worlds. With only 60 units, residents have a sense of privacy, but yet enjoy every conceivable amenity, whether it be in the building itself or just steps to Main Street.”
The Davenport offers 1- and 2-bedroom units, ranging from 860 to 1,330 square feet.
Weiss said the company focused on the needs of the modern renter: The state-of-the-art gym, clubroom, outdoor courtyard and covered parking were designed to make life seamless and enjoyable, he said.
The building is just a block from the Main Street and minutes from the train station, allowing for a painless commute. As one of the only pet-friendly buildings in the borough, the building also provides a fun doggy-wash.
