Hackensack Meridian Health has named a new chief information and digital engagement officer, it announced this week.
Kash Patel, who will also serve as an executive vice president, has more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership in the health care industry, with startups and with multinational corporations.
“We are pleased to welcome Kash Patel to the Hackensack Meridian Health family,” CEO Robert Garrett said in a prepared statement. “Mr. Patel has over 25 years of experience, and his focus on innovation and building strong teams in the health care industry will help our network continue transforming health care delivery for patients across New Jersey.”
Patel joins HMH from Penn Medicine in Philadelphia, where he was vice president and chief digital technology officer. Prior to Penn Medicine, he was with Mount Sinai Health System in New York, where he was vice president, population health and analytics.
“Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hackensack Meridian Health IT team has done an incredible job seamlessly leading team members through the network’s transition to Google Cloud,” Patel said in a statement. “I look forward to being part of this talented team and helping to enhance the patient experience while advancing research and innovation.”
