A former office building in Hammonton has been sold and will be converted back to light manufacturing and industrial use, according to real estate firm Vantage Commercial.
The 105,000-square-foot property at 1001 S. Grand Ave. is the former home of Whitehall-Robins’ research & development and corporate offices.
Cherry Hill-based Vantage said it was hired to lease office space at the property, but the slowdown in office leasing resulting from COVID-19 prompted ownership to sell instead.
Corinne Giletto, senior adviser, and Ken Richardson, executive director, represented both the buyer and seller in the transaction. Neither party was disclosed.
“The current shortage of industrial space, in addition to the lead time to build new capacity, offered the opportunity for conversion of this building,” Richardson said in a prepared statement. “The new owners, who are seasoned investors, saw the potential for the conversion from office to industrial in this demanding market.”
