Family Success Institute gets $40K grant from RWJ Foundation

The Family Success Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building up families and the communities that surround them, was awarded a $40,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help transform communities for family success.

“We are thrilled to be recipients of this generous grant from RWJF,” Executive Director Tim Carden said. “These funds will directly aid our work as we strive for transformational thinking and action across New Jersey at the state and local levels, and promote the practice of divesting from distress, and investing in success.”

Budgeted over two years, the grant will fund local initiatives; help FSI empower communities through outreach and education to local residents, service and faith-based organizations, nonprofit and for-profit businesses and government entities; and foster the expansion and impact of FSI’s Learning Community, a group of local leaders and advocates who share information, experiences and inspiration to formulate positive strategies for better outcomes.

“Promoting strength and success within families and the communities that surround them has never been more important,” FSI co-founder Tom Blatner said. “We have seen time and again that strong families lead to strong communities, and healthy communities help support those families. We are excited to receive this grant and continue our mission to assure all families have what they need to achieve wellbeing as a right, not a privilege.”
