Industrious, one of the top-rated coworking space companies in the country, with locations in more than 50 cities, is opening a second location in New Jersey — at Newport Tower in Jersey City.
Company officials said the Class A flexible workplace, which will span 43,000 square feet on the tower’s third floor, aims to open in the fourth quarter of 2022. It will be called Industrious Newport Tower.
Industrious also announced a partnership with BentallGreenOak, a global real estate investment manager, to operate the space, which will feature private offices and shared workspaces for individuals and teams of various sizes, multiple conference rooms, a café and multiple lounge areas. Private office suites range in size to accommodate teams working in groups of one or two, and up to 10.
Industrious Newport Tower will be the second location in New Jersey — a location opened in Short Hills in June 2020. It will add to the more than 340,000 square feet of facilities the company has in Brooklyn, Manhattan and New Jersey.
Industrious officials told ROI-NJ that they are exploring additional opportunities in the state, but were not specific on any potential locations.
“With the rise of COVID, we’ve seen an increased desire for workplaces close to home, and New Jersey provides great opportunities for us to deliver on that need,” a spokesperson said.
Company officials feel Industrious Newport Tower is ideally situated to serve the needs of both area residents and commuters from across New Jersey and the greater New York City area. The location sits directly adjacent to the Newport PATH station with nearby access to the Holland Tunnel and NY Waterway ferry.
It also offers direct access to the Newport Centre mall, a destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, with over 130 stores.
Doug Feinberg, senior director of real estate at Industrious, said the area will be a selling point.
“As companies finalize their return-to-office strategies, they’re looking for spaces that make it easy and exciting for employees to come back in,” he said. “We’re thrilled to open a new location in Jersey City, our second in New Jersey, and proud to partner with BentallGreenOak to bring a flexible workplace offering to Newport Tower.”
