Cushman & Wakefield strengthens industrial team, hiring Waxman and Lissner from CBRE

A best-in-class industrial brokerage team has been hired by Cushman & Wakefield to focus primarily on industrial leasing in New Jersey and will partner with the firm’s Capital Markets team on investment sales.

Led by industry veterans Mindy Lissner and Bill Waxman, who will both serve as vice chairs, the team, which includes David Gheriani, Christine Eberle, Chris Griffith and Michelle Merkel, joins Cushman & Wakefield from CBRE. In 2020, the team completed 205 transactions, accounting for both sales and leases, valued in excess of $1.6 billion across the globe. Over the past eight years, the team completed more than 61 million square feet of transactions.

“We are honored to welcome this industry-leading team to Cushman & Wakefield. Bill and Mindy have a longstanding history of performing on behalf of their clients, and their reputation as one of the tri-state’s most knowledgeable industrial brokerage teams proceeds them. The entire team will benefit from and contribute to our culture of collaboration, teamwork, respect, excellence and, ultimately, winning,” said Peter Bronsnick, managing principal of New Jersey. “Cushman & Wakefield is committed to promoting an inclusive culture that celebrates its people and their ability to demonstrate a technical acumen across all asset classes. The addition of this best-in-class industrial team is just the beginning of our journey, and we are thrilled they have chosen to join us.

Lissner has more than 30 years of experience in industrial brokerage, specializing in industrial property acquisition and disposition services, strategic planning and implementing of network optimization studies and market evaluation and analysis, as well as global portfolio oversight. Over the course of her career, she has successfully completed transactions valued with total consideration in excess of $10 billion, and she remains a top producer in New Jersey.

Waxman is a 40-year industry veteran who is known for his ability to analyze difficult challenges for his clients and provide quantifiable creative solutions. An authority on corporate, industrial, e-commerce and supply chain real estate, he advises companies of all sizes, from Fortune 50 to startups. Often referred to as the leader in ports and integrated logistics, Waxman works on projects not only locally and throughout New Jersey, but across the tri-state area, as well as nationally and around the world.

Gheriani joins the firm as an executive director with 15 years of commercial real estate experience. He provides occupier and investor representation services to clients throughout central and northern New Jersey, specializing primarily in the sale and leasing of industrial properties along the New Jersey Turnpike Corridor.

Eberle joins as a managing director. She has 18 years of commercial real estate experience on the landlord, investor and service sides of the business. Her vast experience in leasing and asset management gives her the perspective to provide unique and comprehensive advisory to owners, developers and occupiers.

Griffith joins the firm as a senior associate, where he will represent both occupiers and investors in northern and central New Jersey.

Merkel joins the firm as a brokerage specialist, where she will play an important role in supporting the team and its initiatives.
