Donnelly Construction is expanding its industrial portfolio with a Wednesday announcement of a new development on Newark Pompton Turnpike. The Wayne Township planning board recently approved one of two warehouses planned for the 14.5-acre site.
Gensler is the architect for the 25,000-square-foot building, which includes 1,800 square feet of office space and 2,080 square feet of mezzanine space. The warehouse is sited to maximize the available footprint on the site based on setbacks, site circulation and parking.
“This development is a direct response to help meet the overwhelming demand for warehouse space in New Jersey given the growth in e-commerce and consumer spending habits over the course of the last 18-20 months,” said Chris Donnelly, vice president of Donnelly Construction. Donnelly is expecting to break ground in the spring of 2022.
“This project will contribute to Wayne Township’s robust industrial and logistics market with a prime location sitting at the cross-section of Interstate 80, 287 and Route 46. It’s designed to be versatile for future tenant uses with its clear heights, ample column bays, three-bay loading dock and drive-in door,” said Jack Paruta, architect at Gensler.
