Trammell Crow Co., a subsidiary of CBRE, and its joint venture partner Chelsea Senior Living, a leader in senior housing and care, recently announced plans for a three-story, 93-unit senior living facility in Northern known as the Chelsea at Fair Lawn. Construction began earlier in November and is expected to be completed by December 2022.
Located at 16-00 River Road, The Chelsea at Fair Lawn will be the town’s first independent, assisted living and memory care community. The facility will include 26 independent living units and 67 assisted living/memory care units. Resident amenities will include 24-hour professional services, three meals per day prepared by an executive chef, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, daily activities, themed parties and events, premium therapy programs, a full-service beauty salon, concierge services and much more. Independent living residents will have access to underground parking.
“Trammell Crow Co. is pleased to partner with Chelsea Senior Living and Valley Bank on our firm’s first senior living community in northern New Jersey,” said Cheri Clarke-Doyle, senior vice president for TCC’s Northeast Metro business unit. “The demand for senior housing, especially in the Northeast, has grown significantly. The Chelsea at Fair Lawn will meet the needs of the local senior population that is looking for a high-quality senior living community where they can begin their next chapter.”
Douglas Coleman & Associates is the project architect and IMC is serving as the general contractor. Chelsea Senior Living will manage the new community.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with TCC and Valley Bank to fill an evident need among the senior population,” said Roger Bernier, president and chief operating officer of Chelsea Senior Living. “It will be an historic day for Chelsea when this community opens, as this will be our first community in Bergen County.”
The Chelsea at Fair Lawn is 20 miles northwest of New York City, situated on the main throughfare in the town of Fair Lawn. Downtown Fair Lawn has benefited from a revitalization plan to increase in commercial and retail offerings on River Road in recent years. The community is close to various dining and entertainment options and easily accessible to New York City and surrounding metros via the Hawthorne New Jersey Transit train station. Newark Liberty International Airport is within a 40-minute drive.
This will be Chelsea’s 17th assisted living community in New Jersey.
