Riker Danzig elects 4 new partners and 3 new counsel

Morristown-based law firm Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP said that, effective Jan. 1, four new partners and three new counsel were elected at the firm.

Two of the newly elected partners, Rebecca Borgese and Hunt Ricker, are in the firm’s Securities Litigation, Arbitration, Regulation and Investigations Group, which was named Litigation Department of the Year for a Specialty Practice Area by the New Jersey Law Journal in 2020.

Ryan Magee was elected partner in the firm’s White Collar Criminal Defense, Cannabis Law, and Cyber Security groups. Magee is a former Bergen County assistant prosecutor, where he orchestrated financial crime and cybercrime investigations in the Special Prosecutions Unit.

Wendi Opper Uzar was elected partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Uzar is a registered patent attorney.

The firm also promoted three associates to counsel from its Insurance, Commercial Litigation and Environmental practices, recognizing their strong contributions to these core practices.

Appointed to counsel were: Jeffrey Beer Jr. of the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Group; Michael Crowley of the Commercial Litigation Group; and Matthew Karmel of the Environmental Law Practice.
