It’s kind of funny. Lobbyists or government affairs specialists are often viewed in the same lens as journalists. They are a group that is mislabeled, misunderstood — and certainly underappreciated. (Until you need them.)
The truth is: Government affairs specialists provide a valuable service to elected officials and others, providing research (not to mention opinion and advocacy) that certainly is needed.
This group represents the best of the best when it comes to informing others about the value of causes and the rules and regulations that can help (and hurt) them.
