Contract development and manufacturing organization Cambrex is expanding its biopharmaceutical testing services business, it announced Tuesday.
The East Rutherford-based company’s expansion plans include 11 additional current good manufacturing practices laboratories at its Durham, North Carolina, facility with a range of new instruments, as well as broader service offerings for large molecule and viral/cell-based therapeutics.
“We are excited to be adding to our fast-growing biopharmaceutical services business,” CEO Thomas Loewald said in a prepared statement. “Building upon the strength of our analytical team in Durham, this expansion enables us to increase our capacity to serve the large and growing biologics market, supporting the development and testing of a rapidly growing pipeline of large molecule therapeutics.”
