Organon names Rivera its U.S. managing director

Organon, the women’s health company, has named a U.S. managing director, it announced Tuesday.

In her new role, Meghan Rivera will lead Organon’s 400-employee U.S. commercial operations team, maximizing growth potential across the company’s portfolio of women’s health, biosimilars and established brands, it said in a news release. Rivera brings more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical and digital therapeutics industries, the company said.

Most recently, she was chief marketing officer and head of commercial for Akili Interactive, and she has worked at AMAG Pharmaceuticals and Boehringer Ingelheim, among other roles.

“I am thrilled to join Organon at such an exciting point of the company’s journey,” Rivera said in a prepared statement. “From my experience working with transformational companies and across the women’s health sector, I know that our U.S. commercial operations have significant potential for growth and development. I look forward to leading and learning from this experienced, innovative and collaborative team, ensuring we maximize the potential of our strong portfolio of pharmaceutical products and medical devices as we set up this one-of-a-kind company.”

The Merck spinoff is based in Jersey City.
