Rutgers Hillel will honor Ron Ladell of AvalonBay Communities with its Visionary in Partnership Award at an event later this spring.
The Visionary in Partnership Award is bestowed by Rutgers Hillel at its annual gala in April upon an individual who demonstrates commitment to Jewish student life at Rutgers University and the community at large. The recipient embodies the Jewish value of tikkun olam, a pursuit of justice, healing and repairing of the world.
Ladell is being recognized for his strong moral character, compassion and devotion to his students and community. He is a founding and Executive Committee member of the Rutgers Center for Real Estate and is currently an adjunct professor at Rutgers Business School, teaching real estate development and real estate law.
Ladell, a senior vice president, is AvalonBay’s top executive in New Jersey, overseeing all development activities throughout New Jersey, and has developed and constructed over 20 residential communities.
Currently AvalonBay is constructing four additional communities:
- Avalon Somerville Station;
- Avalon Montville;
- Avalon Princeton Circle;
- W-Squared in West Windsor.
W-Squared — a mixed-use residential and retail development located at the Princeton Junction train station where AvalonBay is the master developer — is one of the biggest projects Ladell has ever done.
Ladell previously was honored as by the Monmouth University Kislak Real Estate Institute for Leadership Excellence, and as Humanitarian of the Year by the Center for Great Expectations, where he serves on their board of directors.
Ladell received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Newark and his B.A. from Rutgers College, Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
