Atlantic Health System expands access to its network of care

Immediate Care urgent care locations throughout Monmouth, Ocean, Mercer and Middlesex counties join health care system

Residents in four New Jersey counties have a new way to access the award-winning, high-quality care available throughout Atlantic Health System following the system’s purchase of Immediate Care’s seven urgent care locations.

Formerly owned in part by CentraState Healthcare System, an Atlantic Health System partner, the sites are located in Toms River, Brick, Hazlet, Marlboro, Red Bank, East Windsor and Edison.

Immediate Care’s urgent care locations offer an alternative to patients with medical needs that are non-life threatening. The centers are staffed with medical professionals who are available to treat a wide range of illnesses as well as injuries on a walk-in basis. Patients also benefit from having radiology and laboratory services available on site.

Once fully integrated onto Atlantic Health System’s electronic medical record system, Epic, each of the seven locations will connect with the system’s more than 400 sites of care. Epic allows Atlantic Health clinicians to access a patient’s entire medical record should they need to seek a higher level of care at any of the system’s hospitals or medical centers.

“Offering convenient, high-quality care to patients and families across New Jersey helps us fulfill our mission to build healthier communities,” said Brian Gragnolati, CEO and president, Atlantic Health System. “Immediate Care’s talented caregivers play an essential role in keeping local residents healthy. The Atlantic Health team looks forward to continuing to support those patients on their wellness journeys.”

“Atlantic Health’s acquisition of the seven Immediate Care urgent care locations opens a new vista to serve our communities through a broader network of primary care while enhancing access and affordability,” said John Gribbin, CentraState’s CEO and president.

To help maintain continuity of care, clinical and executive leadership will remain in place at Immediate Care. Plans for future development of these locations include the creation of “medical neighborhoods,” which will incorporate many of Atlantic Health System’s highly regarded primary care, ambulatory surgery and specialty care services.

Along with their traditional walk-in services, Immediate Care offers occupational medicine services to help provide employers with comprehensive and effective health care options for companies of any size. With their facilities being open seven days a week on a walk-in basis, they offer employers and workers both convenience and value. Some of their occupational medicine services include pre-employment physicals, alcohol and drug screenings, DOT physicals, vaccinations and workers’ compensation exams.
