Parsippany medical device company appoints orthopedic expert as chief clinical officer

Dr. Steven Haddad will oversee the development of the product/technology portfolio as well as new medical education courses and clinical studies

Extremity Medical has appointed Dr. Steven Haddad as its chief clinical officer, according to a Monday announcement from the Parsippany-based firm. In his new role, Haddad will oversee the development of the product/technology portfolio as well as new medical education courses and clinical studies.

With over 25 years of clinical, academic and industry experience, Haddad is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in ankle replacement surgery, complex ankle reconstruction, foot and ankle deformity correction and ankle arthritis management. He is also an educator and researcher who has participated in numerous clinical and basic science research studies.

Currently, Haddad serves as CME chair for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is the past president of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He has developed numerous courses for both the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has edited or co-edited eight books and journals and authored or co-authored more than 50 journal articles and book chapters. He has given hundreds of scholarly presentations worldwide, including in Australia, South America, South Africa and throughout North America and Europe.

Haddad has served as faculty at both Northwestern University Medical School and University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and received numerous awards and academic honors, including the Roger A. Mann Award from AOFAS and the James K. Stack Resident Teaching Award from Northwestern.
