RWJBarnabas Health Institute for Prevention and Recovery in Eatontown has appointed Lynn Seaward, assistant director of community-based support services, as chair of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Monmouth County Department of Human Services, Behavioral Health Division.
As chair, Seaward will oversee the committee for a two-year term, as it liaises with the Monmouth County Department of Human Services to make recommendations pertinent to substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery and mental health.
Members of the Monmouth County-served PAC are chosen for their individual experience, knowledge and ability to liaise with Monmouth County Department of Human Services on substance use and/or co-occurring disorders.
Seaward’s appointment marks the most recent development in the RWJBarnabas Health Institution for Prevention and Recovery’s ongoing local and statewide leadership in the mental health and substance use disorder space.
With 20 years of experience in community-based program development and roles at substance use and mental health agencies, Seaward’s extensive knowledge and industry expertise make her well-equipped for her new role.
In her role at the IFPR, Seaward’s responsibilities include implementing the Monmouth County Recovery Collaborative and the county-funded case management program. She oversees the recovery support/case management programs in Monmouth, Essex, Middlesex and Hudson counties.
Seaward is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist and has a certificate as a Certified Recovery Coach. Prior to joining the IFPR, Seaward held positions with Lakeview Health Services and Finger Lakes Area Counseling & Recovery Agency.
