Glenmede appoints former senior adviser with PNC, Spruill, as wealth leader

Glenmede, a leading investment and wealth management firm with two offices in New Jersey, on Monday said Kenneth Spruill Jr. was appointed as managing director and team leader of the Center for Family Philanthropy and Wealth Education.

Spruill will be based out of Glenmede’s Pittsburgh office. He will also serve as a member of the corporate leadership team, headquartered mostly in Philadelphia, and report to Nina Cohen, who is the director of the center and has led Glenmede’s philanthropic advisory business for more than a decade.

In his new role, Spruill will work with families to ensure seamless delivery of strategic advice that enhances their philanthropic strategies. He will also guide clients on their journey to achieving impact and help prepare the next generation to become successful stewards of their wealth.

Prior to joining Glenmede, Spruill served as senior philanthropy adviser of private foundation solutions for PNC Private Bank Hawthorn.

Spruill will partner closely with internal and external specialists to ensure the seamless delivery of fully integrated advice and administration of philanthropic strategies.

“Stewardship is a foundational value at Glenmede, upheld across all facets of our company’s business model and all levels of decision-making,” Cohen said. “Investing in proven leaders is one way we plan for our future and drive our commitment to making lasting improvements to better serve clients, employees and the community. Ken has demonstrated his adherence to excellence and expertise in his discipline.”

Prior to PNC Private Bank Hawthorn, Spruill served as a senior talent consultant and manager of diversity strategies for PNC, and as the workforce diversity officer and relationship manager for Wachovia Corp.

Glenmede has offices in Morristown and Princeton in New Jersey.
