Vierheilig leaving AECOM for key job at STV

Kim Vierheilig, one of the top architectural thought leaders and executives in the state, has been named the new president of buildings and facilities for New York City-based STV.

Vierheilig will lead the buildings architecture and engineering practice nationally and serve on the executive leadership team of STV, which is known as a leader in engineering, architectural, planning and program and construction management services.

Vierheilig, an annual honoree on the ROI Influencers: Women in Business list, serves on numerous boards in the state, including the New Jersey State Board of Architects.

STV CEO Greg Kelly welcomed her to the team.

“Kim brings an incredible energy and depth of experience, and we are excited she is joining us as we continue to elevate the services we offer,” he said. “Her passion for using design as a tool to address inadequacies in mobility and housing and to develop community-centered equitable solutions will be an invaluable resource to our future-focused clients.”

A registered architect with more than 20 years in the industry, Vierheilig joins STV from AECOM, a global infrastructure consulting firm where she focused on strategy, growth and delivery in the transportation, social infrastructure, federal, corporate/commercial and technology and logistics market sectors.

Her broad range of expertise includes high-performance, student-centric design that elevates learning within K-12 and higher education environments, as well as public engagement and reform-focused design in justice facilities. Vierheilig has worked on numerous high-profile projects across the tri-state region, including JFK Airport Terminal 6, the New York City Borough-based Jails Program and projects for the New York City Housing Authority and Rutgers University.

Vierheilig received her Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Science in management from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
