Top 35 business advisory and CPA firm Aprio to merge in Fairfield-based Leaf Saltzman

Aprio, a Top 100 accounting firm based in Atlanta, has merged in Leaf, Miele, Manganelli, Fortunato & Engel LLC, which also goes by Leaf Saltzman, a firm in Fairfield, effective June 1.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Leaf Saltzman’s 32 team members, including five partners, will join Aprio and expand its Northeast practice. In addition, existing Leaf Saltzman clients will have access to Aprio’s full breadth of capabilities to help them successfully manage their financial future. Aprio has more than 900 staff members.

For more than 45 years, Leaf Saltzman has provided comprehensive accounting and financial services to clients across the Northeast serving a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, construction and real estate, professional services, international and private equity.

Aprio’s comprehensive portfolio of services, combined with Leaf Saltzman’s capabilities and strong regional presence, will provide clients with the opportunity to take advantage of valuable federal research & development credits, simplify state tax compliance, protect data and valuable intellectual capital, as well as outsource their accounting needs so they can focus on accelerating business growth.

Leaf Saltzman said it vetted several firms across the U.S. and identified Aprio as the strategic choice to scale its thriving client base for years to come.

Aprio ranked No. 35 on Accounting Today’s 2022 list of the Top 100 firms, with $171 million in annual revenue. Leaf Saltzman’s annual revenue was $8 million.
