Show & Tell: Mark Meisner talks about what’s attracting employees back to in-person work at the office

Mark Meisner is the president and founder of the Birch Group, one of the largest private office owners in New Jersey, with more than 6 million square feet of prime office assets in its portfolio.

We spoke with him about what’s driving leasing activity at Birch’s properties and what’s attracting employees back to in-person work at the office.

“At many of our properties, we’re seeing a tremendous amount of excitement for a return to normalcy in which employees can interact with one another in a dynamic office setting. With the demographic shift to the suburbs, we’re also seeing the hub-and-spoke model continuing to play out, with many companies setting up satellite offices in New Jersey that offer their employees an added layer of convenience and flexibility. Outdoor spaces (i.e., rooftop bars, courtyards, walking paths), connectivity to surrounding neighborhood attractions and on-site amenities (i.e., cafes, fitness centers, etc.) continue to be some of the most popular features that are top of mind for today’s tenants.”
