DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin welcomes retired Judge Bottinelli as partner

Addition marks another senior member in the Alternative Dispute Resolution practice group

Retired Judge Terry Bottinelli has joined DeCotiis, Fitzpatrick, Cole & Giblin LLP as a partner and senior member of the Paramus firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution practice group. In this capacity, Bottinelli is focused on resolving matrimonial and other disputes more quickly and efficiently than can be accomplished through traditional litigation in the courts.

“My litigation experience includes securing groundbreaking settlements that have improved the lives of communities here in New Jersey and across the country. In acknowledging the challenges that traditional litigation presents, I am enthusiastic about Alternative Dispute Resolution and the team here at DeCotiis,” Bottinelli said. “As a former judge, my clients will know that they are in good hands.”

Bottinelli was first appointed to the bench as a municipal court judge in 1993 and elevated to the Superior Court in 2011, where he served in the Family Part, presiding over thousands of matrimonial cases involving complex issues such as custody and parenting time, spousal support, equitable distribution and the like.

“A well-accomplished attorney and respected judge, Judge Bottinelli is a tremendous asset to the firm. We are eager to expand our Alternative Dispute Resolution expertise for our clients under his leadership,” DeCotiis co-Managing Partners Joseph DeCotiis and Michael DeCotiis said in a joint statement.

The firm’s ADR practice group is comprised of a diverse group of attorneys who focus their practices in various areas of litigation, as well as corporate, labor and employment, real estate, construction, environmental and health care law. They include trial and transactional lawyers, former judges, a court-appointed mediator and arbitrator.
