Simplicity Group announces two acquisitions along with new partners

Simplicity Group this week announced two new acquisitions — Georgia-based Buckhead Brokerage Group and Northern California-based Blue Ocean Financial Network.

With the completion of its 35th and 36th acquisitions, the Summit-based financial product distribution company also welcomed Forrest Mitchell and Christopher Yen, respectively, as its newest partners.

Under the leadership of Mitchell, Buckhead will continue to provide service to its agent partners, while transitioning to the Simplicity brand.

Meanwhile, Blue Ocean will transition to the Simplicity brand, and its day-to-day operations will continue to be managed by Yen.

“Simplicity has a great and longstanding working relationship with Chris, and we think highly of the organization he has built,” said Bruce Donaldson, CEO and president of Simplicity. “In addition to being an accomplished professional, Chris shares a common vision about how best to serve clients. We are thrilled to welcome Blue Ocean to the Simplicity Group, and we know that Chris will continue to be a leader in his target market and anticipate strong growth working together as partners.”

“Forrest and his team are first-class professionals, well-aligned with Simplicity’s guiding principles of education, value and partnership,” Donaldson said. “Like the team at Buckhead, we bring these principles to life in everything we do in support of independent advisers and their clients and are thrilled to welcome the Buckhead team to Simplicity.”
