Largest development project in Plainfield to date and the most significant in the downtown area.

BELLA Plainfield Luxury Apartments marked an important milestone in the city ’s ongoing efforts to revitalize its downtown area.

Plainfield Mayor Adrian Mapp attended a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday along with Director of Economic Development Valerie Jackson, city council President Barry Goode and Steven Cheung, managing member of Cheung Development Group LLC, to mark the commencement of the new development that promises to turn the area into a hub for commerce and transportation centered on the Plainfield Commuter Rail Station.

The first major development in the location and newest addition to the Plainfield housing market will include 357 luxury apartments, retail and commercial space, as well as two rooftop restaurants with panoramic views.

Amenities to the apartments will include a fitness facility, conference room with coworking stations, as well as access to ample outdoor rooftop amenity space. On-site site covered parking garage and bicycle storage area are also planned.

Located at 308 W. 2nd St., the entire four-building development was designed by local architect Brian Taylor of Taylor Architecture & Design, whose firm specializes in mixed-use residential development projects.
