Rider announces partnership with Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages

10-year partnership makes local Coca-Cola bottler official partner of university

Rider University has agreed to an exclusive 10-year partnership with Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages, making the local Coca-Cola bottler an official sponsor of the university and its products the official water and soft drinks of Rider, according to a Monday announcement.

Beginning July 1, Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages will have the exclusive rights to sell and distribute all beverages on campus, including carbonated and noncarbonated sodas, cold teas, bottled water, sports and energy drinks, and more. These products will be served at all university-sponsored events, athletic contests, the university store and campus beverage vending, in addition to campus dining locations that include a dining hall, pub and food truck.

The new partnership will also open up opportunities for student internships with Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages at its locations in South Brunswick and Philadelphia.

“Students, faculty, staff and the entire campus community are going to benefit from this exciting new partnership between Rider and Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages,” Rider Vice President for Facilities and University Operations Mike Reca said. “We could not be more excited to work with this legendary brand for years to come.”

The new partnership will be demonstrated through cobranded marketing displays and activities around Rider’s campus, including during events for Rider’s 18 NCAA Division I varsity intercollegiate athletics programs.

Rider and Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages’ individual commitment to sustainability will be enhanced by this partnership as they collaborate on new sustainability efforts, and Rider students will have the ability to sample new products across the beverage portfolio.

“Our primary goal as the local Coca-Cola bottler is to be an invested partner in the communities we live and work,” Fran McGorry, co-owner and CEO, Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages, stated. “We’re thrilled to add Rider University to our portfolio of local commitments. In addition to providing our products, we look forward to collaborating on ways to enhance our communal commitment to sustainability and creating opportunities to support the Rider community.”
