Whether making financial contributions, volunteering time and resources, sponsoring events or teaching financial literacy to young adults, the New Jersey Bankers Association said, its members are committed to the communities they serve.
NJBankers recently announced the six winners of its 2022 Community Service awards.
Initiated in 1994, this annual program recognizes excellence in community service by its member banks, celebrates their charitable work and shares these efforts with New Jersey’s governing bodies to demonstrate how the industry serves its communities throughout the state.
To be considered, member banks must first submit summaries of their charitable and service activities throughout the year, which is compiled into a booklet. These entries are then reviewed by a panel of independent judges.
“The work these banks do for their communities often goes unrecognized, so to have the opportunity to be acknowledged amongst their peers goes a long way,” NJBankers CEO John McWeeney said. “Additionally, this initiative allows us to show local representatives the work our banks are doing to support the communities they represent.”
