In addition to being a practicing physician, Hewlett is part of the CMSRU Diversity Council, which has made diversity, equity, inclusion – as well as mentorship and patient advocacy – its core values. The group celebrates the diversity of the community it serves, embracing differences in gender, gender expression, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, cultural background, socioeconomic status, age, physical abilities and educational background. It also encourages the faculty and staff to express and appreciate its multitude of cultures and lived experiences.
