Greek Development opens new corporate HQ in East Brunswick (and hires additional 17)

Industrial developer has doubled in size since Q4 2021

Greek Development on Wednesday formally announced the opening of its new 14,095-square-foot corporate office in East Brunswick. At the same time, the vertically integrated real estate firm announced the recent hiring of 17 new team members to help bolster multiple departments within the firm — from project management and development to human resources, property management and more.

Both the new office and additions to its team have come during the first half of 2022, as the 80-year-old business continues to scale its operations to keep pace with the explosion of demand for industrial product across New Jersey.

Greek’s new outpost — nearly double the size of its original space — was managed and designed by its internal project management team. The new office features a kitchen/lounge area that fits over 80 people comfortably, as well as four conference rooms.

Greek’s total staff has doubled in size since 2017, as it continues to expand its industrial warehouse portfolio across New Jersey, select areas of Pennsylvania and Orange County, New York, and has consistently hired talent across multiple departments

The new hires, which have helped to expand nearly every area of Greek’s business, are as follows:

  • Accounting: Michel Manaweel, Reese Buchan, Tina Strachan and Krishna Patel;
  • Corporate Safety: Stephen Rudd;
  • Development: Habib Popal;
  • Office Administration: Lindsay Oliveira and Nicole Kazar;
  • Project Management: Robert Sprang, Marshall Failing, Rick Jehn, Bill McNelis, Ian Penrose, Jim Turp and Jon Feti;
  • Property Management: Joanne Behr and Ronald Gauthier.

“We know that a major factor in successfully broadening Greek Development’s reach and influence is our ability to hire and retain the industry’s best talent,” David Greek, managing partner of Greek Development, stated. “We take pride in our ability to form positions around the professionals we meet and connect with, rather than trying to fit them into a particular role — and our incredible success during the first half of 2022 is a testament to this approach. All of our new hires will play integral roles in ensuring Greek continues to grow and expand our first-class development, construction and management offerings.”

A leader in the industrial sector both prior to and throughout the pandemic-driven explosion of e-commerce, Greek is currently constructing the 4 million-square-foot Linden Logistics Center in Linden as well as the 3.2 million-square-foot Logan North Industrial Park — the home of Target’s largest distribution operation on the East Coast — in Logan Township.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2022, Greek has concentrated plans to build upon its growing market share in the competitive New Jersey industrial landscape, expand its expert team and continue to design, develop, construct and manage exceptional industrial buildings for a wide spectrum of diverse clients.
