CarePoint Health and Rothman Orthopaedic Institute announced they have strengthened their partnership to 10 years to provide orthopedic care.
The two first announced their orthopedic partnership in March 2021.
This commitment exemplifies the priority of both organizations to create a world-class comprehensive orthopedic service line at Hoboken University Medical Center and Christ Hospital in Jersey City to serve the patients in Hudson County and beyond.
Rothman Orthopaedics has 14 practice operations in New Jersey and a new Hudson County location. The new location includes Rothman Orthopaedic surgeons and nonoperative physicians who will staff key programs, including a new Arthroplasty Center in addition to services such as imaging, orthotics and physical therapy.
Rothman Orthopaedics and CarePoint are also in discussions to create a multispecialty ambulatory venture to serve Hudson County. This program will encourage other specialties outside of orthopedics to join this high-quality care model.
“A strength of Rothman Orthopaedics that I am particularly proud of is our ability to recruit top talent,” Dr. Alexander Vaccaro, president of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, stated. “We are very fortunate based on our reputation that the North Jersey expansion attracted an abundance of top trained orthopaedic applicants. Hudson County is going to be thrilled with the new orthopaedic physicians serving their community.”
“We have had an overwhelming response on the part of the orthopaedic community to practice in Hudson County at these outstanding hospitals,” Dr. Christopher Olivia, CEO of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, said. “This will allow us to select the best of the best, fellowship-trained surgeons from prestigious organizations like Yale University and others to serve patients in the New York metropolitan area. It speaks to CarePoint’s incredible leadership to commit to this project to improve the care of the patients they serve.”
CarePoint Health has made big strides in bringing quality health care to the people in northern New Jersey. In the past two years, CarePoint has gained national recognition as the No. 1 hospital for equitable care in the U.S. by the prestigious Lown Institute and fourth-ranked safety net hospital by Washington Journal. In its stage of strategic and clinical evolution, CarePoint is transforming to a nonprofit health care system with partnerships that include national leaders in health care delivery like Rothman Orthopaedics.
Rothman Orthopaedics anticipates a fall of 2022 commencement to begin caring for patients in Hudson County with an initial six surgeons and two nonoperative physicians hired for Hudson County with expertise in joint replacement, spine, sports medicine, hand & wrist, foot & ankle, and shoulder & elbow.
