IFF opens new innovation lab at Union Beach R&D facility

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. has unveiled a new “Nourish Innovation Lab” at its Union Beach research & development center, it announced Friday.

The New York-based company said in a news release that the new state-of-the-art laboratory will give its scientists, such as flavorists and food designers, the tools and technology to offer customers full product design, helping to drive growth in its food and beverage markets through innovation.

“This new facility is a testament to how we pioneer innovation and drive speed to market and accessibility to our customers,” Nicolas Mirzayantz, president of Nourish, IFF, said in a prepared statement. “We will nurture an innovation project from concept to kitchen table, under one roof. Using our scientific know-how, application excellence and full portfolio of ingredients, we’ll improve the taste and nutrition profiles of next-generation food and beverages.”

The Union Beach facility comprises 160,000 square feet and serves as IFF’s premier taste and scent research center.
