Princeton-based MGK International, a leading U.S. metal trading and processing company, recently received the prestigious President’s “E” Award, which is given to a limited number of exporters that have sustained an increase in export sales over a four-year period.
The “E” Award program, created by executive order of the president of the United States, has recognized many of the nation’s most dynamic exporters since its inception in 1961.
MGK International, which is headed by Dipan Patel, is part of the Mehta Trading Co., which is based in Mumbai, India. It is involved in the scrap metal trade business, with branches in India, Dubai, Singapore, London, Europe and the U.S. The company trades more than 70,000 metric tons per month of scrap metal globally.
Patel said the company’s financial goals include:
- Developing a leadership role in this billion-dollar industry;
- Nurturing even stronger relationships in Korea (especially Busan), Taiwan and China;
- Leveraging the potential of the world’s developing countries currently being served from the U.S.’s East and West Coast ports;
- Earning ISO certification.
