Well-known public affairs professional joins MBI as director of business development & community engagement

Public affairs firm MBI on Tuesday announced that Osner Charles joined the Trenton-based firm as director of business development & community engagement.

“We are very excited to have Osner Charles on our team,” Raul “Rudy” Garcia, president, MBI, said in a prepared statement. “Active in northern New Jersey, Osner has earned a reputation as a well-respected public affairs professional keenly focused on business development, economic development, real estate development and municipal operations. Osner’s expertise and experience makes him an invaluable addition to MBI, and we welcome him to the family.”

Charles previously served as assistant director of economic development for the city of Paterson, responsible for real estate development, business recruitment, retention, expansion, workforce development and the overall economic development strategy of the state’s third largest city.

“Osner made significant strides in Paterson and will always remain a part of my team,” Paterson Economic Development Director Michael Powell said.

Charles also serves as on the advisory board of Rutgers University, Nassan’s Place and is a former member of the YMCA board of directors. He is an active supporter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson and Union Counties, and a host of many other nonprofit organizations throughout the northern New Jersey area.
