RRBB Accountants partner invited to N.Y. State Society of CPAs Leadership Institute

Joseph Caplan, a partner of Somerset-based RRBB Accountants and Advisors, was recently selected as one of 11 CPAs invited to participate in the 2022 New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Leadership Institute.

“I am excited to continue my education in skill-based learning,” Caplan stated. “As a partner and chair of the firm’s Tax Department, it is crucial for my leadership skills to develop as the workforce develops. I enjoy staying ahead of the curve while making sure I lead in the best direction possible.”

The next-generation CPAs and CPA candidates from all over New York state who submitted applications were chosen for review by the NYSSCPA staff. Those chosen are organizational leaders, have achievements in their field and are active with the NYSSCPA.

This Leadership Institute is the only leadership initiative explicitly for CPAs and CPA candidates in New York. The hybrid online and in-person training program will last six months. This program intends to improve productivity at work, assist in leveraging skills and also provide crucial insights and tools for more effective strategic career planning.

Caplan serves as chair of the RRBB Tax Department. He focuses on providing tax, advisory, attest and accounting services to owner-managed businesses in various professional service industries. Generally, these industries include medical and dental practices, law firms, real estate and small businesses.

Caplan is an active member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, currently serving as vice president of the Monmouth/Ocean Chapter and as chair of the chapter’s Healthcare Committee. He is also a member of the Young Member Leadership Committee for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Through the AICPA, Caplan graduated from the Leadership Academy, being one of 41 CPAs chosen from around the country.
