Columbia Bank hires EVP to oversee all credit policies

With more than 20 years financial experience, Matthew Rickert has been named executive vice president, chief credit officer for Columbia Bank, according to a Monday announcement.

In his new role, Rickert will be responsible for the bank’s credit policies, including all aspects of commercial credit and special assets.

Rickert’s past experience includes senior leadership senior leadership roles for JPMorgan Chase Bank, most recently serving as market executive for Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries at JPMC, where he oversaw all facets of the portfolio, including sales and client profitability in New Jersey.

Previously, Rickert also served as credit risk director, where he managed the credit, counterparty, and market risk undertaken by the firm. Prior to that, he held banking and credit roles at Wells Fargo and HSBC.

Rickert serves on the board of directors of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey.
