The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey has long been helping and assisting the Hispanic business community in the state.
On Tuesday night in Phoenix, it received national recognition for its efforts.
The chamber was honored as the Best Large Chamber of the Year at the 2022 United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Conference.
About the SHCCNJ
The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey is the voice of the more than 120,000 Latino businesses that contribute more than $20 billion to the New Jersey economy. The chamber’s mission is to educate, train and advocate for its members in the political landscape and provide procurement opportunities for all its members.
As a national organization, the USHCC represents Hispanic chambers nationwide. The award winners were selected from Hispanic chambers in cities throughout the country. They are judged on various criteria, including leadership, community service and advocacy for local Hispanic enterprises.
SHCCNJ Chairman Luis De La Hoz was thrilled that the chamber was honored.
“For over 30 years, we have served the Hispanic business community,” he said. “The success of the Hispanic business owners in America is largely due to our local chambers’ strength, dedication, determination and contribution. We are proud to be that organization in New Jersey.”
It is the second time in six years that the SHCCNJ has been so honored. CEO Carlos Medina said the award shows the depth of effort and appreciation by everyone in the Hispanic business community.
“The chamber has really come into its own because of the ‘familia’ business model that we focus on,” he said. “We all support and nurture each other. This was truly a team effort that makes us all very proud.”
