Live sing-along bar opens at Tropicana in Atlantic City

The team behind Wild Honey Smokehouse and Tavern at the Tropicana Atlantic City announced it’s bringing a new sing-along bar — Gin Rickey’s — to the entertainment destination.

Opening Thursday, the bar combines live music and a playful mix of classic cocktails. Complete with dueling pianos and musical talent that spans local, regional and nationally recognized headliners, Gin Rickey’s will be the perfect place to celebrate.

The classic design of Gin Rickey’s echoes and elevates the nightlife experience Atlantic City is known for. The 4,000-square-foot space will feature a bespoke Split Flat display designed by Philadelphia’s Oat Foundry, programmed to feature a rotating list of musical quotes and song lyrics, designed to look like a retro departures board.

Helmed by Operating Partner Tom Recine, whose background spans 20-plus years of running high-volume bars, restaurants, hotels, resorts and casinos, Gin Rickey’s joins its sister concept, Wild Honey Smokehouse and Tavern, in the Quarter at Tropicana, an Old Havana-themed enclosed shopping mall featuring 30-plus outposts spanning shops, restaurants and nightclubs at 2801 Pacific Ave.

“After opening Wild Honey, we realized the need for a place that had good live music, great snacks and even better cocktails that stayed open late,” Recine said. “Thus, Gin Rickey’s was born. Saturated with good vibes, Gin Rickey’s is the place to capture all your Instagrammable moments when in A.C.”

The cocktail menu offers a look at drinks of the past and present, with a list of eight-plus Gin Rickey cocktail varieties, plus classics covering Negronis to Manhattans and everything in between. High-integrity retro sips like the Mai Tai, Strawberry Daiquiri and Long Island Iced Tea round out the menu alongside a slew of large formats, including a ginormous 42-ounce martini and oversized mason jars.

A late-night menu offering bites to offset the evening’s drinks will be served on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 10 p.m. out of Gin Rickey’s “Hidden Kitchen.” The star of the show is its signature “Twisted Biscuits” — a mix of sweet and savory comfort food classics served in homemade buttery biscuits.
