Basking Ridge Country Club, together with Heritage Golf Group, on Friday announced the opening of XXVI Tavern (twenty-six tavern), a 133-seat restaurant that will be open to club members as well as the public.
“We are excited to continue to serve our community and introduce our extremely talented Executive Chef Angel Rivera and the new menu he has created for XXVI Tavern,” Chris Thomas, general manager of Basking Ridge Country Club, stated.
Rivera has deep experience at both private clubs and high-end restaurants in the tri-state area, including, most recently, 1776 by David Burke in Morristown. Rivera joined XXVI Tavern last month and has created an exciting menu.
The name XXVI Tavern is a nod to 1926, the year Basking Ridge Country Club was founded. XXVI Tavern will be open to the public and members of the club, Wednesday-Sunday. The restaurant offers views of the beautiful fairways and greens of the golf course while dining inside or outside. The outdoor bar and terrace, with 50 additional seats where guests can enjoy spectacular sunsets, will open weather permitting.
Heritage Golf Group, a leading owner and operator of golf and country clubs, purchased Basking Ridge Country Club in January 2022 and took over food and beverage operations beginning in October.
Longtime banquet and catering Directors Stephanie Bailey and Jessica Quesada, along with Manager Menzi Bholoa will continue to run all events along with their staff. Kait Fagan joins as the new food and beverage manager.
XXVI Tavern is located at Basking Ridge Country Club, nestled in Somerset Hills at 185 Madisonville Road, just 45 minutes from New York City and conveniently less than a mile off Interstate 287. For more information, click here.
