U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo will be the keynote speaker at the 2022 Middlesex County Business Summit, to be held Thursday at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center.
Raimondo, the former governor of Rhode Island, will participate in a fireside chat format with U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-6th Dist.), who serves as the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce committee.
The two are expected to discuss ways the federal government is working with states to empower entrepreneurs, helping them innovate and grow while creating good-paying jobs.
The Middlesex County Business Summit, an annual event for business owners, CEOs, entrepreneurs and executives of high-growth companies located in the county and the surrounding area, is free (please register here).
The summit is designed to provide business leaders with an opportunity to meet and network with their peers; establish new partnerships and relationships; share best practices; find new customers and investors; and discuss emerging market trends.
The Raimondo-Pallone discussion will highlight the all-day event, aimed at the business community. There will be discussion of various topics on numerous panels and breakout sessions, including:

- Tomorrow’s workforce — today’s challenges;
- Finding new ways to appeal to your customers;
- Getting access to funding: Traditional lending;
- Getting access to funding: Venture capital.
