Carole Middleton (mum of Kate, Pippa) to start U.S. launch of Party Pieces at Saker ShopRites

If, for some reason, you wanted to get party supplies from the company owned by the parents of Kate Middleton — you know, the Princess of Wales — you now can.

Saker ShopRite stores in New Jersey announced Wednesday that it has signed a retail partnership with Party Pieces, the iconic British party supplies company founded by Carole Middleton in 1987.

The deal marks the brand’s first retail partnership outside of the U.K. and is the beginning of larger expansion plans in the U.S.

Party Pieces products will be available at 39 Saker ShopRite stores in New Jersey, in Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer and Somerset counties.

Carole Middleton, who recently visited Saker ShopRite stores in Aberdeen, Hazlet, Middletown and Shrewsbury as part of the U.S. launch, said she is excited about the partnership.

“It’s very exciting to see our Party Pieces Collection expanding into the U.S. starting with Saker ShopRites, a leading retailer in New Jersey and family-owned business with a long history of commitment to the customers and communities its stores serve,” she said in a statement that may have been written more for audiences in the U.K.

“This is the culmination of great teamwork, and we’re happy to partner with Saker ShopRites for our initial launch.”

Richard Saker, CEO of Saker ShopRites, shared her enthusiasm.

“We are thrilled to be the first U.S. retail partner for British heritage brand Party Pieces,” he said. “We know our customers are coming together again to mark special occasions in their lives and they want to make their parties spectacular.

“We’re sure our customers will enjoy celebrating memorable moments with these fantastic new lines from Party Pieces.”
