Russo Development celebrated the grand opening of phase 1 of Vermella at Garwood Station on Tuesday night.
The project, more than 10 years in the making, will include 296 units, including 40,000 square feet of amenity space (including a gym, clubhouse, resort style pool and sundeck) and just under 20,000 square feet of street-level retail space.

The building, located at 450 South St., includes off-street covered parking (exclusively for retail customers), outdoor community space and seating. It is located directly adjacent to the New Jersey Transit station.
Phase 2, directly across the street, is currently under construction.
The event was attended by approximately 75 people, including Russo Development CEO Ed Russo, Garwood Mayor Sara Todisco, former Garwood Mayor Charles Lombardo and numerous other city and Russo officials.
