Felician University announces new finance degree program

Felician University is launching a new undergraduate finance degree program. Beginning in fall 2023, students enrolled in the private university will be able to study for a Bachelor of Science in finance in the School of Business & Information Sciences.

Coinciding with the launch of the finance major is the construction of a new state-of-the-art Finance Lab, which will contain 16 Bloomberg terminals providing faculty and students access to industry standard financial information systems, live market data, current news and events, and insight from leading experts in the field.

Philip Rothman, David Turi and Karen Beerbower will serve as the full-time professors for the program.

“The curriculum was developed by faculty from the School of Business & Information Sciences to prepare students with the cutting-edge content knowledge and diverse skill set they will need to achieve professional success in the field of finance,” Rothman, who has 24 years of industry experience in corporate banking and financial risk management, stated. “Students will learn the core competencies of financial literacy and management as well as the importance of critical reasoning, ethical decision-making and teamwork.”

The Felician University finance program prioritizes curriculum, courses and related class activities that focus on the intersection of business and sustainability, social responsibility, strong corporate governance and the fostering of ethical business professionals.
